[simulator] I.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE
A central objective of [simulator] I. is to create meaningful exchange among orchestral performers working across different musical, cultural, educational, institutional, technological, and professional contexts.
International exchange is not the passive representation of difference, but a process of attentive listening, translation, comparison, disagreement, and reciprocal transformation. Participants articulate their positions precisely while remaining open to the possibility that sustained engagement with unfamiliar practices may alter their assumptions.
The program’s duration allows relationships to develop through repeated artistic contact rather than brief encounter. The residency supports connections extending beyond festival preparation and capable of generating future performances, research, pedagogy, publications, curatorial projects, ensembles, and collaborations.
