[simulator] I.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

[simulator] I. offers an extended context for orchestral performers who wish to examine how their practices are historically constituted, materially organized, institutionally mediated, and structurally perceived.

The residency provides:

– Four focused online seminars and laboratories

– A sustained progression from contextualization to experimentation and public presentation

– Critical exchange among orchestral performers, researchers, and invited mentors

– Time for performance, listening, analysis, simulation, revision, and methodological articulation

– A framework connecting artistic practice with historical and theoretical inquiry

– An on-site residency at the seventh Bled Contemporary Music Week

– Opportunities for performance, research presentation, and professional documentation

– Participation in an international community of orchestral practitioners

– The possibility of developing future artistic and research collaborations

The program addresses performers seeking more than the reproduction of repertoire: musicians prepared to examine how orchestral knowledge is produced, transmitted, contested, and transformed through histories, bodies, instruments, scores, technologies, institutions, acoustic environments, and collective listening.
